The design challenges that inspire us

Villa Amoretti is a historic residence in Turin which is now home to the Civic Library

Frescoes, wood paneling, original floors — a highly valuable context that required a wayfinding system capable of orienting each visitor without altering the building’s identity.

The complexity of the project was to combine full accessibility and architectural respect: a bilingual, inclusive, high-contrast system was needed, integrated into environments where each wall tells a story.

We created a complete system—directional totems, floor directories, tactile maps on lecterns, and door signs with Braille text—all in a two-tone blue/white scheme consistent with the identity of the Turin Civic Libraries and designed to facilitate readability even for those with low vision.

To complete the intervention, decorative glass stickers with geometric modules for the reading rooms, which shield without removing light.
